Happy Endings > Andy

Andy was taken in by a good samaritan in Texas when he was picked up as a stray. This kind family soon realized Andy was injured and took him to a local vet hospital where he was found to have a fractured hip, probably caused by a hit and run by an automobile. Andy underwent hip surgery.

Though well intentioned, the family soon realized they could not handle the needs of a busy GSP in their home. They were new to the breed and quickly learned he needed much more than they could give. Texas GSP Rescue at the time was full to capacity and could not assist the family in placement. We were contacted and decided to transport Andy up north as we have vast resources available here for the physical therapy he would need to gain more use of his injured leg.

Andy spent months in foster care with a wonderful GSP loving family that took him to his PT visits routinely and gave him ample room to run and play with their own GSPs and children. Before long, a gentleman in MA met Andy and was smitten! The rest was history.

Andy is now spoiled as an only dog, but with plenty of access to canine playmates at the near by doggie park. On any given day, Andy can be found running about in his HUGE new yard or lounging in the sun. Through all the changes Andy went through, he retained his wonderful demeanor and happy-go-lucky attitude. We are so proud to say we could make a difference in the life of this very special dog!
