You are considering adopting a GSP! If you have never owned a GSP before, please visit our about the breed page to learn more about what it means to own a GSP. We welcome new GSP owners to experience the joy of owning a GSP, but we do require that you have a full understanding of the needs of a GSP. For many new dog owners a GSP might be “too much dog” so we ask that you educate yourself on the breed. We always enjoy hearing from breed experienced adopters as we know that you share our love for this active breed! Our dogs are placed as indoor house pets with no guarantees as to hunting ability.
We are an all-volunteer organization and we do the best we can with the resources we have available. Please be patient with us. We do not routinely answer e-mails or phone calls asking questions about specific dogs we have available for adoption WITHOUT having received an application first. We are a foster based rescue meaning that our dogs are in private foster homes throughout New England. We do not have a physical facility in Tewksbury.
If you are interested in a specific dog, have completed an application and have not heard from us within five business days please e-mail Celeste Long.
After viewing our adoptable dogs, please keep this in mind: often times, dogs come into our program and are placed through direct adoptions to folks on this waiting list. Because of this, NOT ALL of the dogs we have available for adoption are listed on our website. If you would like to adopt your next GSP but find that we do not currently have a dog who matches your needs, still consider completing the application and adoption approval process.
Also consider that our most needy dogs are dogs with special medical needs and senior dogs (10 years and older). These dogs are often in foster care for more than 6 months waiting for the right home. If you are especially interested in either of these, please make a note of this on your application.
Finally, if you decide at ANY point in time during the approval process that you are no longer seeking to adopt through us, kindly let us know. As we are an all volunteer organization we are always looking to maximize our limited resources and we ask that you help us to do so.
Adoption Fees range from $150 for an older dog (10 and over) to $450 for our youngest dogs (under 3). All dogs are spayed/ neutered, up to date with all vaccinations, microchipped and healthy at time of adoption to the best of our knowledge. All adoptions are at our sole discretion.
Please visit the adoption process page for more information on the approval process.
