- We are an ALL volunteer group whose sole purpose is to find permanent, loving homes for German Shorthaired Pointers that have come into an unfortunate situation.
- From personal experience, we know that adopted GSPs make loyal and loving companions, so we are diligent in our efforts to match the right dog with the right family.
- We believe that the German Shorthaired Pointer is a special breed with special needs which are sometimes overlooked by people when purchasing a dog. We understand the breed and can offer a service by screening prospective adopters to find these lost dogs an appropriate home. We want to work with adopters to see that no GSPs are left in shelters or euthanized for inappropriate reasons.
- We would also like to emphasize that we are not a dumping ground for unwanted pets, be they from breeders, hunters or average pet owners. Because GSPs are a hunting breed, interested parties may think we have hunting dogs for adoption. While some of our dogs have that capability, our primary focus is to find the dog a loving home as a family pet.
- We do not place aggressive animals and we evaluate each dog before placing it on our adoption list. ALL of our dogs are either neutered or spayed before being placed baring any medical contraindications.
- GSPs are highly energetic, athletic dogs that need exercise, fenced yards or a runner in the family. Older dogs may be less energetic and need families just the same as younger ones. GSPs are generally good with children and other dogs, but can be cat-sharp if they didn't grow up with them.
- Our primary goal is to find permanent homes for these great dogs that have come into an unfortunate situation. We believe adopted GSPs make loyal additions to the family. We may not have a dog for everyone, but we believe a GSP makes an extraordinary pet.
- We are a 501c3 non profit rescue dedicated to finding homes for German Shorthaired Pointers who have become homeless by no fault of their own. Needy dogs come from shelters or as owner surrenders. We take care of their immediate needs and then place them in permanent loving homes.
